Directions and Map

Directions from Asheville Airport Area:

 

- Take I-26 east to Exit 49B (Bat Cave/Chimney Rock/Lake Lure, US 64 exit).

 

- Drive easterly about 13 miles on US 64 East to the intersection with US 74A in Bat Cave.

 

- Turn right and drive 4 miles on US 64/74A to the Lake Lure Municipal Center/Town Hall.

 

Directions from Charlotte:

 

- Take I-85 South to the Kings Mountain exit # 10B, and proceed on US Hwy 74 West towards Shelby.

 

- Stay on US 74 through Shelby and follow signs to Hwy 9.

 

- Turn right onto Hwy 9 and go 10 miles until the road dead ends at Lake Lure.   Memorial Hwy, which is also US Hwy 64/74, is the main highway through the Town of Lake Lure. Therefore, turn left at this intersection and go about 2 miles to reach he Municipal Center/Town Hall.

 

Directions from South Carolina:

 

- Take I-26 West and take the first exit after the North Carolina Welcome Center, exit 67).

 

- Go right onto Hwy 108 East and proceed 6 miles to Hwy 9.

 

- Turn left onto Hwy 9 and go 9 miles until the road dead ends at Lake Lure. Memorial Hwy, which is also US Hwy 64/74, is the main highway through the Town of Lake Lure. Therefore, turn left at this intersection and go about 2 miles to reach he Municipal Center/Town Hall.

The Town of Lake Lure have produced a street map that is available at the Municipal Center/Town Hall, Fairfield Station #2, Municipal Golf Course, and at various local stores. The cost of the map is $2.95. The maps have a street index, fire hydrant locations, contour lines, and a copy of the original historic Lake Lure development plan on the reverse.
