The Lake Lure Police Department is located in the municipal center on Memorial Hwy. The police department is a full service professional department that has a community-oriented policy philosophy and provides around-the-clock patrols. Officers communicate well with citizens and visitors to identify problems, and work with citizens and visitors to identify solutions. The town's larger than normal geographic size, lake, serpentine boundaries, gated communities, location in the far western corner of Rutherford County, limited highway access, and seasonal influx of tourists and part-time residents create a unique challenge for officers.
The Lake Lure Police Department strives toward goals that enhance the quality of life and fosters a sense of security for all citizens and visitors alike, while holding themselves to the highest standards of performance and ethics. The department is committed to the preservation of peace, order and safety; crime prevention; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; and the safeguarding of our Constitutional guarantees.
